Originally drawn using Micron 0.5mm pens on watercolour paper (16.5 x 23.4 inches = A2 42 x 59.4cm)
I then scanned it and coloured it using Photoshop.
This was the first large drawing I had done in nearly a decade as I had mostly been working digitally up until this point. I started drawing a house in the middle of the paper and this treetop community organically grew from the middle of the page. I hardly sketched out anything, just basic shapes once I had done about half of the ink work because at about half way I began worrying that I would screw up the drawing. I total I spent about 100+ hours drawing this. Over the next few years, after I scanned in the drawing I attempted to colour this but quickly abandoned these attempts as I was unsure of how to colour this. It was only after completing the colouring on the Lakeside Cathedral did I come up with a simplified colour scheme and the knowledge on how to complete this.
